Scholarships are based primarily upon financial need, academic achievement, character and community service. Award amounts vary, but on average are $800. Up to $3,000 for Christians

Several grants are available to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at any accredited theological or seminary school. Students from midwestern states and those who plan on serving in a local church ministry are given preference. Ph.D. students are not eligible. Must be between the ages of 25 and 55 and have a strong Christian faith.

The P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education provides grants to women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to resume studies due to changing demands in their lives. There must be a need for financial assistance with their educational expenses to improve their marketable skills. Must have been out of school for at least a year, must be within the last two years of finishing your degree, must be a citizen of either the United States or Canada.

The Eight and Forty Scholarship, offered by the American Legion, was established to assist current registered nurses (RN’s) who wish to advance their career for positions in supervision, administration or teaching. Students are to have prospects of being employed in specific positions in hospitals, clinics, or health departments on completion of their education and the position must have a full-time and direct relationship to lung and respiratory control.
